William Endicott Rands, JR
This page mainly has his first days outside
the womb. Then click on the year links to
see photos for that year of his life.
I told the doctor and nurses that I
wanted Will to be on my body (skin on
skin) for the first hour that he was
out. So that's why you see all that
bloody mess on me. He kept sucking
on his hands, so after about 45
minutes I let the nurses do their
thing. Then I let his proud Papa have
his one on one time before I tried to
feed for the first time.
The heel pricks are the hardest for
me, so I send Bill to witness them.
Will stayed in our room (there is no
nursery at this hospital). The first
night, Will had to sleep skin on skin
because his temp kept dropping which
in turn was lowering his blood sugar.
